Hi Christos and Donald.
Thank you so much for allowing me to pop into your office and discuss the merits of your Greek olive oils with you and taste them before I purchased. I am a very keen cook with a good reputation amongst family and friends and always looking for the best ingredients to make my dishes taste even better.
I thoroughly enjoyed meeting two such charming Greek gentlemen and absolutely loved the olive oils. The organic Latzima and the extra virgin Iliada. Both the quality and the flavour.
I have tasted wonderful olive oils when I have travelled through Italy and France, (every two years,) and yours are on a par with the very best of them. Many olive oils leave a bitter taste in your mouth, particularly New Zealand olive oils, as the industry is in its infancy, our climate is not particularly suited to growing olives and the experimentation is ongoing. Naturally they cannot hope to compete with the Olive Groves of Greece, Italy and France as their trees are much older and bear more fruit. But also the soil is different. NZ olive oils are also outrageously expensive.
I have tasted great Greek olive oils in Australia also, so much easier than in New Zealand, as the Australian Greek produce industry is well established and thriving. The immigrants have added so much to the cultural mix in that country.
In NZ, we have been well educated in Italian cooking and encouraged to purchase Italian olive oil, without realising they are not always of the highest quality. Many of them have vegetable oils added.
Your oils yesterday were superb. As I drove to Takapuna, the wonderful flavours lingered in my mouth. So soft and fruity and utterly utterly delicious. Even after I had eaten a spicy Thai lunch, lingering in my taste buds was this fantastic flavour. For dinner last night, I could not resist simply cutting a slice of bread and drizzling it with the Organic Latzima. And that was not enough for me, I just had to have another piece with the Iliada on it. Heavenly. One happy lady last night.
I most certainly will be purchasing these oils off you for as long as you have them on offer. They are far superior to any other olive oils I have experienced, and the New Zealand ones do not come close. Naturally still in their infancy, but not really the climate. Not to mention the age of the Olive Groves in Greece.
And the Kalamata Olives you have – from Kalamata. I’m sold.
All of your products are so reasonably priced, I cannot believe it for the quality.
I do encourage everyone who reads this site to rush out and purchase these products. You will not regret it.
Kindest Regards and the Very Best of Luck.
